Nitrile O-Ring Cord
The most widely used O-Ring Cord elastomer. Excellent resistance to petroleum products. Excellent compression set, high temperature resistance, tear and abrasion resistance.Excellent mechanical and physical properties.Nitrile also has good resistance to acids and bases, except those with a strong oxidizing effect, weathering, sunlight and ozone.
Descriptions
Nitrile is the most commonly used rubber material. This is due to Nitrile’s compatibility with most environments as well as it’s relative cost compared to other rubber materials. Nitrile (BUNA-N) 70 durometer, is a general purpose copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile.
Prime Features
An O-Ring Cord as a seal through the mechanical deformation of the elastomeric compound by mating metal surfaces. This creates a condition of “zero” clearance which blocks the liquid or gas being sealed. The pressure which causes the O-Ring Cord to move is supplied by mechanical pressure or “Squeeze” generated by proper gland design, material selection, and by the system pressure transmitted by the fluid itself.
